VDA - Triglav

The Slavic God Triglav.

This piece was first made with my Vampire; Dark Ages game in mind. In the vtm universe he is a Tzimisce methuselah that, in the brief canon part about him, he got killed by Dracon. His brother and a methuselah that in triumvirate leads the Christian city of Constantinople. As a player you can understand this narrative bit being symbolic of Christians defeating the pagan Slavs. But also as a player you can be free to respect the fact this is supposed to be a powerful seer and someone with potent magic, so, he may not be entirely gone in every story.

But outside of the Vampire context (and the only thing really making this piece vampiric is the slight pale to the skin and nighttime.) I tried to put a more indo-european spin to him, so no clothing that calls to the (high) middle ages. I wanted him to feel 'Ancient Slavic' but without losing that Slav identity too much. And yes, that is the mystical fern flower in the corner and a bunch of poppies in the back. Unfortunately, this description box is too small to properly explain the symbolism behind the various attributes, the colour choices and how they connect. But I hope you find it visually pleasing at least.

Perhaps I shall make another image to honour him in Rodnovery context.
